Fashion Love Affair: Aurélie Bidermann Demeter Necklace

It's a rare occasion to come across uber high-end jewelry that channels out one's inner milkmaid.

Aurélie Bidermann's 18k gold plated Demeter necklace has only been on Net-A-Porter for a few days and it's already sold out. And it's not hard to see why. Take a peek for yourself!

From Net-A-Porter:
Add Grecian-inspired opulence to a chic evening portfolio with Aurélie Bidermann's 18-karat gold-plated necklace. Showcase the striking engraved ear of wheat adornments against a jewel-toned gown, sweeping your hair up for added glamour.
Here's how I see this going down: Demeter Necklace + milkmaid braid + red lips = perfection. And with a $2225 price tag for this gem, what you choose to wear below the necklace won't even matter!

Preview: The Lien Garconne Tap Shorts

I love Lien. These Garconne Tap Shorts are crafted from a pearly pink silk jacquard which has interwoven Chinese motifs, with two fans applied in insertion lace right on the rear. Perfectly sweet and perfectly peek-worthy!

They'll be up in the Honey Cooler Handmade shop tomorrow!

Chickens, Dungeness Crabs and Humidity... Oh My!

Well hello there, everyone!

Yes, it's been awhile. I've been away visiting family and friends on the East Coast and have returned from a whirlwind trip (I hesitate to call it a vacation) exhausted, thoroughly humidified and five pounds heavier.

One of our destinations on this excursion was Rock Hall, MD, where my in-laws live. My husband's mom is probably the most creative woman I know. Her home is an homage to color (she's a weaver) and the sweet simplicity of life in small-town America. I had a blast checking out her newest acquisitions and talking shop - she's an Etsy seller too. But my favorite part of hanging out at her house is chilling out with her little herd of chickens. As you can tell from the below photos, I had a little fun with Hipstamatic during our short time on the East Coast. Here are some of my favorite shots!

I'm so glad to be back in SF in time for Labor Day weekend. One thing's for sure, I'm going to be laboring like a madwoman for the next few weeks because Capsule is coming up! Anything exciting going on in your neck of the woods?

Now on Etsy: The Grace Garconne Tap Shorts

I love tulle. I also love cotton tulle. And I especially love dotted cotton tulle. Lucky for all of you, I located my MIA stash and have finally begun to incorporate this divine fabric into some really fun pieces (the Cygne Deco Camisole, anyone?).

My most recent endeavor is Grace: a pair of Garconne Tap Shorts whose most prominent asset is a penchant for peek-a-boo! Take a peek yourself...

Sheer triangular inserts at the top rear and side leg hems add just a smidge more sensuality to an already cheeky (heh) pair of tap shorts. They're in the Honey Cooler Handmade Etsy shop now, so snag 'em while they're hot!

In Progress: Farida Deco Camisole

From the very moment I spotted this pristine vintage pink elephant tape lace, I had grand ideas of what I'd do with it. I imagined something Indian-inspired, boasting bright glimmering colors to best display what I think has to be the most fun lace I've come across... ever!

Enter Farida, a lovely Deco Cami fashioned out of a papery fine pale aqua silk jacquard which is striped with rivers of colorful tinsel.

I'm so excited to get it into the Honey Cooler Handmade shop tomorrow!
