Fiber & Fashion Pop-Up on Nicasio Square, July 24th 2016

As many of you know, I officially left San Francisco for West Marin back in October. Part of the appeal of our new home up north is that it has a gorgeous little shop on the property, the future home of Evgenia lingerie. The only problem (a big one) is that it's quite a rustic little space with tons of resident spiders, critters and dust. Needless to say it needs a boatload of improvement (read: new roof, drywall, hermetic sealing) before I can officially call the space home for Evgenia.

That said, I've been dreaming of, at the very least, hosting some pop ups in my new space until I can officially call it home. The shop's previous life was as a sweet little home goods store, so it's got retail in its bones. So, I invite you to the first pop up at the future home of Evgenia!

Join me, my mother-in-law Alice Pickett Lewis of Textures Gallery, Lisa Anderson Shaffer of Zelma Rose, Marnie Jackson of Black Mountain Farm, and Rebecca Braun of Rebecca Braun Bowls for an event celebrating fiber and fashion!

I hope you'll pay us a visit and check out the bare bones of my new digs! For more detailed information about each artist and the event in general, please visit our Facebook invitation, and be sure to RSVP and invite your friends! Make it a full day event and hit up Rancho Nicasio's lively Sunday BBQ afterwards - you won't be disappointed.

Can't wait to see you there!

Still Shopping? Give the Gift of the Snowy HCH Cotillion Collection!

It's almost Christmas, which means if you're anything like me, you're still shopping. Lucky for you, a few pieces from the new Honey Cooler Handmade collection are ready to ship, including the Cotillion Chemise and Cotillion Knickers in sizes Small, Medium and Large!

Both are sewn from an impossibly soft cotton blend Dotted Swiss with sheer Point d'Esprit panels. The delicate corset detailing is a sweet, unfussy nod to the HCH Ribbon Corset.

You can shop for both pieces on Etsy or BigCartel, but hurry! The cutoff for US Christmas deliveries is tonight - place your order by midnight and get it time for Christmas!

Join us for bubbly and shopping galore. If that's not enough to tempt you, Dollhouse Bettie will be among the first to debut pieces from my new Deco line. I'll have a bunch of Ribbon Corsets in a rainbow of colors on hand - they make the ultimate luxury gift for you or your significant other.

Honey Cooler Handmade at Pixie Hall on Friday April 19th

This year, our San Francisco spring has announced itself with lots of rain. This past week has been particularly gloomy, but that doesn't mean SF's most fashionable aren't wearing their prettiest colors with pride (albeit with galoshes).

Join Elizabeth Street Cosmetics and yours truly on Friday April 19th from 4-7pm for a trunk show that will push the clouds away and get your springiest sensibilities revving. ESC's Kelly has some gorgeous new lip colors she'll be debuting (have you seen Franklin yet?), and I'll have a fresh stash of everything silky and lacy. Tons of Knickers and some new Moonshine Chemises to show, all perfect for putting a spring - so to speak - in your step.

Join us on the 19th and make sure to let us know you'll be there with bells on on Facebook!

Satisfy Your Lingerie Sweet Tooth at Heroine!

I am so pleased to announce that Honey Cooler Handmade has landed at the lovely Noe Valley women's clothing boutique Heroine. Heroine is geared towards ladies, moms and babies, making it a rare gem in the sea of San Francisco clothing stores. Proprietress Angela carries some awesome brands like Johnny Was (a personal favorite), She Bible, Plenty! by Tracy Reese, and Orion London, so I'm in very good company.

Sneak a peek at a selection of pieces now at Heroine below - they're fully stocked in Knickers, Deco Camis, Garconne Tap Shorts, Bow Belts and Ribbon Corsets!

Clockwise from top left: Heidi Bow Belt, Imogene Deco Camisole, Lovina Knickers,
Dixie Ribbon Corset, Lonnie Private Eye Sleep Mask, Stella Moonshine Chemise,
Desdemona Deco Camisole, Winnie Ribbon Corset

A note: Since so much of my stock is no longer on Etsy, if you'd been secretly pining for something you no longer see online, please let me know and I can try to track it down for you. Happy shopping!

I'm so pleased to announce that Honey Cooler Handmade pieces are now available to buy on Cityblis! Cityblis is a platform for emerging designers to sell their work in a high-end and curated atmosphere. After poking around the site, I realized that I am in truly awesome company alongside a mere handful of designers - including CFDA award winner and milliner extraordinaire Eugenia Kim.

Check out the HCH shop on Cityblis and let me know what you think! While you're at it, be sure to scope out the rest of the site's fashion offerings. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Fashion Love Affair: Thakoon Embroidered Long Sleeve Top

I usually reserve my fashion love affairs for pieces I wouldn't wear on a daily basis, but I'm making an exception for this lovely piece from Thakoon's Resort 2012 collection.

The angular embroidery motifs remind me of the Ukrainian blouses I grew up wearing. What's great about this piece is that it can pair with anything... which is definitely a good thing considering the $990 price tag. More bang for your buck, I always say.

Check out this piece and others from the collection over at ShopBop. And get ready to practice some serious restraint.

McQueen Still Reigns

I was puttering around downtown today before an appointment and made a stop at my favorite shoe destination, Neiman Marcus. The shoe selection there is to die for. Lovely, yet exorbitantly and prohibitively expensive. Doesn't mean I can't snap a shot or two though...

Alexander McQueen sandals, you had me at "hello", but I'll have to keep on loving you from afar because $1400 is a tad out of my price range.

Lost in Translation: A Day at Daiso

Last week, the amazing Tammy George (of PuNk rAwK pUrL fame) and I eschewed our sewing machines and decided to take a field trip to Daiso.

Daiso is the stuff of dreams: an emporium of colorful Japanese imports at ridiculously low prices. It's not quite the size of Michael's or Target, but it's certainly big enough that Tammy and I spent a good hour and a half wandering its endless saccharine aisles. If you're anything like me, the Serramonte Shopping Center seems incredibly distant (both in actual distance and in spirit) from my beloved hipster haven that is San Francisco. But I will say this: Daiso is a gem of squee-inducing design and bad translation. Let the tour begin!

What's the appropriate reaction to receiving a gift bag like this? "I have something to tell you" never seems like a good opener.

Snacks! I picked up some Pocky and Chocorooms for my husband and succeeded in holding myself back from the rainbow of assorted sweets.

This bag might have been among the most expensive things in the store (most items are $1.50), but in all fairness Daiso's copywriter DOES deserve a substantial bonus for making me laugh.

Me too, little bear, me too.

I really want to make eclairs now!

I've never felt the need to buy hors d'oeuvres toothpicks, but there's a first time for everything. The cute colors were giving me cavities!

More impossibly precious toothpicks!

Shoulder pads. Please note the English translation of the unsatisfied, and then satisfied, user. Is "It's good enough" really a selling point?

A cornucopia of food erasers!

Tammy carefully considers some uber-cute bowls.

If you haven't been to Daiso, GO for God's sake! After an hour and a half and a full basket of knick-knacks, I wound up spending around $14. Daiso is to shopping what Stevia is to a sweet tooth. Yummy yummy!
