First Peeks at RAW:Stimulus

Last night was a blast!

My first fashion show for Honey Cooler Handmade is done and I couldn't have asked for a more awesome team. The event was a showcase for the hair and makeup artists too, so I was prepared to have to eschew the 1920's inspired looks I was hoping for. Luckily for me, the talented stylists were really excited about the aesthetic I showed on my Pinterest inspiration board and I ended up with an army of ten gorgeous flappers: finger waves, spit curls, red lips and all! Even better, the amazing Kristen Linney of What About Phoenix loaned me some lovely jewelry pieces that added a modern, angular edge to my vintage-inspired looks.

While I began the edge-of-my-seat wait for official photos, my awesome model KC sent me some of her iPhone pics from the night. I thought I'd share them with all of you!

Sunday's Shoot: A Teaser

Since things are getting pretty crazy around here, I thought I'd share some of my excitement with all of you. Sunday's shoot went even better than I could have imagined (and I dream big), and I have the first edited photo to prove it. More to come!

Laura in Honey Cooler Handmade

My hair stylist, Laura, is a fantastically fashionable chick. Her wardrobe is the perfect amalgamation: exciting, curated and upbeat. So when she said she'd fallen in love with my skull lace Deco Camis and wanted one for herself, I was very flattered.

When I went over to Laura's house to check the fit of her custom Cami, I make sure to snap a pic too. Check it out!

What Can I Say?

I'm coming off quite a high. I've had the most amazing day and I cannot wait to share photos from my very first official shoot with all of you. My team was amazing and my pitiful iPhone pictures do not do the work justice.

The only thing I can tell you is that, armed with a confident photographer, risk-taking stylist (Dominique Guillen), talented hair stylist, experienced makeup artist (Randy Stevens), over-the-top florist and sex-on-legs model, you can't help but get great shots. I'm still trying to catch my breath. Official photos to follow... happy Sunday evening, everyone!

Oh Deer!

With my upcoming photo shoot and fashion show, things have been hectic around here to say the least. My apartment now contains three taxidermy deer heads, a bunch of antlers and a giant goose, all bit players in Sunday's shoot. My workspace (and home) is an explosion of thread, fabric and general disarray. While planning looks, I laid all my pieces out in the living room and I swear, for a moment I felt like I was in the bordello at Four Deuces.

It's funny: on Sunday, I was a madwoman. A frantically sewing, panicked madwoman. Today, 9 of my 10 fittings are done and everything finally seems on-track; I feel wonderful. There is nothing so validating as seeing clothing you've made fitting beautifully on beautiful women. I've also realized that any crippling feelings of stress I've had over the past few weeks have been self-induced. Everything I've tackled so far has turned out to be more than manageable, and apprehension has at last transitioned into cautious delight.

I can't wait to share photos from my upcoming shoot and show with all of you - bear with me as the store remains on the quieter side for the next week. I'll be back to normal before long!

If you can, please join me as I show my pieces at RAW:Stimulus next Thursday. Ticket prices will go up on Sunday, so make sure you get them through me (and soon!) to score them for only $10 apiece. Hope to see you there!

A Little St. Patty's Day Love from Etsy

What a treat! I just discovered that my Zella Moonshine Chemise was featured in an St. Patty's Day-themed Etsy Finds email!

Green's an often-overlooked shade when it comes to lingerie, so it's been really fun to see how much love my green pieces are getting this time of year. Why not check out a few for yourself?
